Hey there. No im sorry I dont know anyone by that name. I hope that you find him!!! Ive been on the road for 8 years and this will be number 9. I love working on the road but plan on getting out when i have a family. Well good luck finding your brother!!!
Sorry, I did not read mail until this evening. Our help is local, and those who travel to our spots are usually family and family connections. Sorry I don't know a Chaz. Hope you find him.
I do know a Chaz but I am not sure if it is him or not. Have you contacted Fiesta Shows, that is one of the bigger carnival up there. They arent working right now but they might know where he is. I do know that there was a Chad...aka (Chaz) working for that show when I was there. I am working on Strates down in Florida now but if I hear anything about him I will definitely let you know. As for work most of us carnies are not working right now because it is winter but everyone will be hiring come spring time.
Hey Deborah!
Call me JC. I do, indeed, work for a carnival, [Reithoffer] as a diesel mechanic. Of course, I can't stay in Florida and travel North with the carnival. Succinctly put, it's long hours, seven day weeks, hard work, and constant travel. It's challenging, often dirty, and thankless. My usual teardown day doesn't usually end until thirty or more hours later, when I've done all the work I must complete.
As for Chaz; I don't have any idea with what carnival he may travel. If you know the town and approximate date, you can find the name of the fair, and thereby, the name of the carnival on line. It'll be helpful to know the game he works, because the games are usually owned independently of the carnival itself. There are several hundred carnivals, each one with numerous concessions, and many concessionaires travel independently of any one carnival. Information is your best ally in finding your brother. Reithoffer does play some spots im Mass.; Brockton is over the Independence Day holiday, but I am elsewhere then. Good luck finding Chaz.
This time of year, there is little work available, and most goes to insiders in the business. With today's economic conditions, competition for any paying position, no matter how poor, will be fierce. Fortunately, in this business, there's more work than willing workers to do it. Unfortunately, it's seasonal, and the season has ended. From March on, you can go onto any carnival lot and find work, if only temporary. As in all industries, anyone truly wanting to work will get to do so. My suggestion: if you have prior experience in another field, stay in that one; this business is becoming tougher and less rewarding yearly. At fifty, unless you've been working hard for most of your life, you might have the stamina for this.
Again. good look
